BCARE, - spin off emerging from CIC energiGUNE in order to offer added value services to the industry on matters of energy storage-, has named the engineer from San Sebastian Miguel Encabo as new Chief Technology Officer of the company, with the objective of consolidating its position of reference in the sector of storage and facing new opportunities and developments in a market that is more competitive each day.

“We are a very young company, but we are also very aware of the fact that we need to give effective answers to the industry immediately to consolidate the achievements that we have already obtained, and we will only reach that with the most trained people”, has pointed out General Manager Soraya Romo Díez weighing up on Encabo’s appointment. “The incorporation of Miguel as CTO allows us to confront new challenges with the greatest probabilities for success”, has added Javier Olarte, CEO of BCARE.

Miguel Encabo is an engineer at ENSIEG (Grenoble) and since 1990 he has developed a renowned professional career linked to R&D and innovation, acting in numerous occasions as a revitalizing agent in the collaboration between companies, technological centers and universities. As a matter of fact, before his incorporation to BCARE he has been CTO and Transformation Director since 2018 in the cooperative society AMPO, managing the strategic projects of transformation and promoting digitalization.

Previously, his career was mainly carried out in Orona, where he progressively took the positions of R&D director, Technological Innovation Director, Corporative Director of Technology, Director of Orona EIC and Director of Strategic Projects. He counts with a wide knowledge on the sector of batteries and, during his academic phase, he received the Award to the best final dissertation from the Electrical Engineers School in Grenoble for the development of a current sensor with amorphous materials.

In barely three years of activity, BCARE has positioned itself as a referent agent in the sector with an invoicing of 800,000 euros in 2021 –which represents an increase of 28% in relation to the previous term- and a growing workforce currently formed by 10 highly qualified professionals. The incorporation of Miguel Encabo native of San Sebastian entails, therefore, one more step in the growth and expansion strategy of the spin-off of CIC energiGUNE.
